The Mad Middle

Over the years I have coined the phrase the Mad Middle to define a group of folks that have been under served by the politicians and the media.

These are the people that just want to go to work, feed their family, save up enough to go to Vegas or Disneyworld, and to be free enough to be left alone by government regulators, special interest groups, and busy bodies with agendas trying to tell them how to live their lives..

The Mad Middle are not mushy moderates. They don’t think compromise, tolerance, and understanding are dirty words.

For lack of a better description the Mad Middle are Pragmatic Libertarians. They are fiscally conservative but socially liberal.

The Mad Middle understands that the same freedom that allows me to practice my faith the way I choose, allows others to believe or not believe the way they choose. The Mad Middle doesn’t care if someone is gay or straight. They may not own a gun but respects those use their guns responsibly. The Mad Middle doesn’t envy anyone for their success, they just want a chance to achieve their fullest potential too. And the Mad Middle doesn’t expect a bailout if they fail, but they don’t want to give it all back to the government if they succeed. The Mad Middle understands that we have a need for taxes, but demands that they be as low as possible and that the money be spent responsibly.

The Mad Middle is sick and tired of the far left and the far right demanding all or nothing in their battles. The Mad Middle is telling Congress to grow up and act like adults and worry more about solving the problems facing this country than worrying about getting reelected.

This blog will have news stories, discussions, podcasts, video blogs and other items that will appeal to the average American… The Mad Middle if you will.

If you are a part of the Mad Middle please post this on your blog, forward to your friends, and comment in the discussions. Let’s let Congress and the media know that there are more than just the far left and the far right in this country.

The Mad Middle will be silent no more.

About the author

I have my PhD in watching human behavior. A diverse career as a Disc Jockey, Advertising Sales Manager, Stand up Comic and for the last 18 years Radio Talk Show Host has led me to where I am today. Fed up with the extreme left and the extreme right in politics. I don't think moderates need to be "mushy". If another American has a different opinion than me it doesn't make them my enemy. We are all Americans and all in this together. Extremists start wars. It's time for the moderates to stand up and be counted. It's time we stand up and tell our politicians to get us out of wars we can't pay for, to quit bailing out bad behavior by individuals and businesses alike. It's time to respect someone of a different religion, color, sexuality or anything else that makes them different than you. If they aren't hurting anybody let them be. But if they are hurting someone have them adequately punished. The Mad Middle are for people that want the government out of their life as much as possible. Fiscally conservative and socially liberal equals freedom.
